Overview

About the Workshop

This workshop aims to provide an interdisciplinary and high-level platform for academic exchange among experts in protein science, protein engineering, computational biology, and related fields worldwide.

Research in the life sciences is currently undergoing a paradigm shift: biophysics reveals the physical basis of biological processes down to the single-molecule level; protein engineering endows macromolecules with novel functions through optimal and rational design; and computational biology, leveraging artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, simulates the behavior of complex biological systems with increasing precision. Deeper integration between these three disciplines is accelerating breakthroughs in drug discovery, synthetic biology, and precision medicine.

The workshop will feature presentations and poster sessions, covering cutting-edge topics including single-molecule resolution techniques and functional studies in biology, AI-driven protein design and drug screening, molecular dynamics simulations, and coarse-grained biological modeling. The gathering of an outstanding group of scholars with expertise in related fields will help explore unresolved challenges, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and inject new momentum into the future of life sciences and biotechnology. The workshop will also provide valuable learning opportunities for early-career researchers and students working in related areas. The workshop is sponsored by the NYU-ECNU Center for Computational Chemistry at NYU Shanghai.
